The Student of the Month for August and September is 7th-Grader, Callan Rotert, the son of Chris and Michelle Rotert. This month's special theme is "Friendship and Be Positive". Callan currently participates in Scholar Bowl, 4H Club, Basketball, and Baseball, and in his free time, he also enjoys drawing. His future plans are to become either a lawyer, doctor, or actor. Callan's statement of inspiration is that he would like to say "Everyone should be treated equally."
The Ballard staff have said about Callan:
"Callan is just awesome! Probably the kindest young man that I have ever known. Always polite and respectful. You will never hear a negative thought come from him, and he is just a pleasure to be around. Keep showing all the others how it's done, Callan!" and "Callan is an extremely kind, compassionate, and caring person. He is always looking out for his fellow classmates and loves an opportunity to help!" Other teachers say, "Callan is a great kid with a big heart. He is always kind, using his manners, and willing to jump in and help anyone. He is always doing his best and is a great leader." and "I haven't had the privilege of getting to know Callan very well yet. However, every time I have had any interaction with Callan he has been kind, respectful, and conscientious of his actions and words. I can't wait till he gets to high school and I get to be his teacher."
For Callan's hard work in school, he has received a $15 gift card.
